Tradition and Innovation

25 years ago the original OR-800 was launched and quickly gained status as an audio classic in Japan. As one of the pioneers of today's high-end cables, it has enjoyed tremendous support by audiophiles for over two decades. We ceased production as a result of inevitable increases in costs due to its unique and intricate structure. However, encouraged by overwhelming popularity, we decided to update and re-introduce this Classic.

After one and a half years devoted to the re-evaluation of materials and methods, the new OR-800 Advance emerged, maintaining the architecture of the original but with improved materials backed by the most sophisticated and up-to-date technology available.

Conductor

Original fine OFC Litz wire (0.12mm dia.), made into a bundle of 399 strands (7x57) as a core. The Litz structure facilitates the elimination of electro-magnetic disturbances and strain distortion between conductors, and its advantageous skin effect minimizes the loss of high frequency response.

 

Insulation

Cotton thread winding; for overwhelming resonance suppression and extremely low electrostatic capacitance, electromagnetic induction and dielectric constant. Plastic compounds are superior for mass production, but are less than perfect for undisturbed signal transport.

Outer Cover

High polymer polyolefin compound for extremely low dielectric constant factor (1/3 of vinyl) and fast resonance absorption.

Termination

Terminated with spades to match 6 and 8 mm posts.Spade; highly polished 2mm thick solid OFC, with extra thick Silver-base-plating and Palladium plating to finish. Connection to cable is by Lead-free solder with non-chloride flux.

Structure

Star-quad configuration with 4 conductor bundles as above, for electro-magnetic shield effect without increased electrostatic capacitance.
