Oyaide introduces the F1/M1 AC (M1) and IEC (F1) Plug set made with Beryllium Copper contacts and plated with 0.5 microns of Platinum followed by 0.3 microns of Palladium. Oyaide's all-out assault on State-of-the-Art

We thoroughly tested several dozen combinations of plating methods, selecting the very best, platinum + palladium, for our flagship model, the F1/M1. The first layer is 0.5 µ (microns) of Platinum, followed by the second layer of Palladium which is 0.3 µ in thickness. The initial shaping of the contact is done via an automated mill. This is followed by a manual polishing which is done before the first direct plating layer and again before the final plating. This process is unique and unparalleled and achieves a mirror finish. The use of Beryllium Copper provides a high level of conductivity and at the same time a high level of mechanical integrity, both appropriate qualities for a flagship level product. Heat treatment is applied to enhance its machine-ability. Its rigidity and thickness (1.0mm thick and 6.0mm wide) increases the holding capacity of the plug to 8kg and minimizes vibrations which would otherwise degrade the transmission of energy.

P/I-CF

Made by Acrolink, the CF series represents the ultimate in AC connectivity. Contacts are polished Phosphor Bronze with twice polished 1.5 micron thick Gold plating followed by 0.3 micron Palladium plating. Carbon fiber outer barrel absorbs EMI and stray electrons making it the quietest AC connector available today.

Receptacles and Blades

 

The basic material employed is deoxidized
Phosphor Bronze (1.4mm thick) for strength
and secure contact. When connected they
can sustain a load greater than 7 kg. The
surface is thoroughly polished (twice).

 

Retentivity Over 30kg

Pull strength of the blade terminals and cable combined is over 30 kg. We achieved this specification as a result of our ongoing commitment to safety.

Plating Process

P-037 and C-037

Super thick (1.5 micron) Silver plating is applied directly on the polished
surface of the receptacle and blade and is then polished twice again. A
final plating of Rhodium (0.3 micron) is applied and polished twice again.

A combination of the metals chosen, precisely determined thicknesses of
each layer and and the polishing process determine the overall sonic
quality of the P-037 and C-037.


P-079 and C-079

Super thick (2.0 micron) 24K Gold is plated directly on the polished
surface of the receptacle and blade
which is then polished twice again.

P-046 and C-046

Super thick (1.5 micron) 24K Gold plating is applied directly on the polished
surface of the receptacle and blade and is then polished twice again. A
final plating of Palladium (0.3 micron) is applied and polished twice again.

The quality and choice of plating materials alters the sound dramatically.
Where the Rhodium sounds pure and bold, the Gold sounds warm, spacious
and luxurious and Gold Palladium is pure, vivid and extended. Any one of the
three is far above standard "audiophile" grade connectors. It's up to you to choose which suits your taste and system most.
